JJ brings over 30 years of management experience to his role at Hatley Pointe. After falling in love with the mountains, he moved from San Diego, CA to Western North Carolina in 2006. His career has spanned various sectors, from managing drug rehabs and group homes to overseeing construction projects for the last two decades. From building townhomes in Woodfin to restaurants and breweries throughout Western North Carolina, it is safe to say JJ is well versed in all aspects of development.

JJ joined the Hatley Pointe team during the early stages of construction. During this chaotic time, his kindness and passion for service became apparent to everyone. As the lodge renovation project neared completion, JJ was promoted to Director of Operations. He has since expanded his focus to the overall development of Hatley Pointe. In this new role, JJ is heavily involved in all facets of Hatley Pointe. From snowmaking to hospitality development, JJ is a key player in it all.  

Outside of work, JJ is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys river activities like rafting and kayaking, he’ll be sure to tell you the Nolichucky River is his favorite place in the world. He is also a big sci-fi fan. He resides right here in Madison County with his wife, four kids, four dogs, and numerous cats. As a local, JJ’s ambitions lie in creating a place that will benefit the community. He is most excited about Hatley Pointe's upcoming ski season and seeing the community’s response to all the new changes.
